Xbox Game Pass Will Say Goodbye to a Top Hades-Inspired Game
Xbox Game Pass and the Counting Crows have a shared sentiment: you often don’t realize the value of something until it’s no longer there. Microsoft’s game subscription service frequently refreshes its library, adding new titles while also removing others. Unlike a movie that you can squeeze into your schedule, games require a significant time investment. So, when a title is about to leave the service, it’s time to jump in if you want to experience it.
A prime example of this is the latest batch of games set to exit Xbox Game Pass. Recently, it was announced that *Lost In Random: The Eternal Die*, a standout roguelike and one of 2025’s hidden gems, will be leaving the service.
Launched in June 2025 for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, Windows PC, and Xbox Series X, *Lost In Random: The Eternal Die* serves as a direct sequel to Zoink’s 2021 action-adventure title, *Lost In Random*. Picking up right after the first game, *The Eternal Die* shifts perspectives in two significant ways. First, players take on the role of the original game’s antagonist. Second, it changes the camera from a traditional over-the-shoulder view to an isometric angle reminiscent of roguelikes like *Hades*.
But the camera angle isn’t the only thing *Lost In Random: The Eternal Die* borrows from Supergiant’s iconic game. Players embody Queen Aleksandra, the villain from the first installment, who finds herself trapped in a sort of pocket dimension. Accompanying her is a sentient die named Fortune, which can be thrown as a projectile to explode enemies. Together, they battle their way back to reality, recruiting other trapped souls who inhabit their hub area (where they respawn between runs). Thanks to procedural generation, the dungeons change with each attempt, ensuring that no two escapes are identical.
While your weapon choices are somewhat limited — including a sword, bow, hammer, and spear — the combat is fast-paced and engaging. Boss encounters are genuine tests of skill, pushing players to experiment with different builds and memorize attack patterns. Between runs, there’s a continuous sense of meta-progression as you collect resources to enhance various stats and unlock new abilities. It has all the essential elements of a great roguelike. For fans of the genre, *Lost In Random: The Eternal Die* is an essential experience.
*Lost In Random: The Eternal Die* will exit Xbox Game Pass on June 15, along with *Jurassic World Evolution 2*, *Scott Pilgrim vs. The World*, *Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine*, and *Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge*. They really did pave paradise.
