Tifa Lockhart Joins the Roster of Street Fighter 6 as the Latest Guest Character

Final Fantasy 7’s Tifa Lockhart is set to join the roster of Street Fighter 6. This exciting news was revealed during Summer Game Fest 2026, following a flurry of speculation sparked by a credible leaker, Rnk_Clan, who hinted at Tifa’s inclusion in the Year 4 Pass lineup. Naoki Hamaguchi from Square Enix took the stage to share that Tifa has been “redesigned as Tifa the Street Fighter,” incorporating elements from her original game.

While Capcom hasn’t provided a specific release date for Tifa in Street Fighter 6, the rest of the pass lineup has been confirmed.

Square Enix has a history of lending its iconic characters to fighting games. Notably, Noctis from Final Fantasy 15 made his debut in Tekken 7 back in 2018, and Clive Rosfield from Final Fantasy 16 joined the Tekken 8 roster in 2025. Despite fans expressing a preference for Tifa over Clive, player data indicated that Clive was the most popular guest character in Tekken 8, attracting more players than Noctis did in Tekken 7.

Towards the end of 2025, Capcom announced that Street Fighter 6 had achieved a significant milestone, surpassing 6 million copies sold within its first three years. For context, Street Fighter 5 sold just over 7 million copies from its launch in 2016 until the last sales update in 2023. With such impressive numbers, Capcom is capitalizing on this success with an Easter egg-filled movie adaptation set to hit theaters in October.

And yes, you can now V-Trigger M. Bison.
