This New Gundam Game Is So Impressive It Could Be Mistaken for Armored Core
A new Gundam game is on the horizon, and it’s just around the corner. Unveiled during the Summer Game Fest showcase, Gundam Rogue Orbit is the latest installment inspired by the beloved anime from Bandai Namco, set to launch in 2027. The trailer was so impressive that it almost felt like a new Armored Core title. Here’s hoping we see one of those soon as well.
Here’s our first glimpse at Orbit:
The game will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, but details on whether it will focus on single-player gameplay or feature online elements like some recent Gundam titles are still under wraps. The initial synopsis suggests a more cinematic, narrative-driven experience compared to something like Mobile Suit Gundam Battle Operation 2.
“Change humanity’s fate in Gundam Rogue Orbit, a high-mobility action game that delivers a bold new take on Gundam, blending a fast-paced cinematic story with intense, hard-hitting combat in an all-new universe,” the description states.
Whatever direction it takes, fans are hoping for extensive mech customization options. This game is set to release ahead of a new live-action Gundam movie from Netflix, featuring Sydney Sweeney and Noah Centineo as rival mech pilots, though a release date for that project has yet to be announced.
