Fable Reboot Sets Official Xbox Release Date and Showcases Extended Gameplay Footage

Developer Playground Games and Xbox Game Studios recently unveiled a fresh glimpse of Fable during the Xbox Games Showcase, introducing fans to another key character in the game. The trailer concluded with an exciting announcement: Fable is set to launch on February 23, 2027.

This latest trailer takes a darker tone compared to earlier previews. Hayley Atwell, known for her roles in Agent Carter and Mission Impossible, portrays a villain who believes she can become Albion’s ultimate hero. Fable serves as a reboot of the beloved open-world RPG series, where your choices shape both the narrative and the world of Albion, allowing you to define your own heroic path.

The reboot was first revealed back in 2020 and has made appearances at several Xbox Games Showcases since then, with Playground Games initially aiming for a 2025 release. However, in February 2025, the launch was pushed to 2026, and just last month, it was announced that the release would be further delayed to February 2027 to steer clear of competition from Grand Theft Auto 6 and a crowded fall lineup.

Fable will be available on PlayStation 5, Windows PC, and Xbox Series X on February 23, 2027, and will be included as a day-one release on Xbox Game Pass.

The most sinister aspect of the Sword of Aeons is how it compromised my moral integrity.
