Halo: Campaign Evolved Launches on July 28th
During its recent showcase, Microsoft unveiled exciting new information about Halo: Campaign Evolved, the highly anticipated remake of Halo: Combat Evolved’s campaign mode. Set to launch on Xbox Series S/X, PC, and PS5 on July 28th, this remake promises to deliver a fresh experience for fans.
The newly released mission trailer offers a glimpse into Operation: Meteorite, a three-mission story arc that unfolds a year prior to the original game’s events, featuring the iconic Master Chief alongside Sgt. Johnson.
Announced last year, Campaign Evolved is described as a “modern evolution” of the classic narrative. Built using Unreal Engine 5, the game boasts impressive 4K visuals, enhanced animations, remastered music, and re-recorded voice lines. Additionally, players can look forward to three brand-new prequel missions. Halo Studios is also incorporating weapons from later installments, such as the energy sword and battle rifle. The game will support two-player local split-screen co-op and up to four-player online co-op.
A demo of Campaign Evolved was played by a colleague, who remarked that while it “looks and feels distinctively Halo,” there’s much more depth to the experience beyond its stunning visuals powered by Unreal Engine 5.
Preorders for Halo: Campaign Evolved are now open, with a premium edition priced at $69.99 that grants early access on July 23rd. For collectors, there’s a $199.99 edition featuring a 12-inch “Dark Horse” Master Chief statue, a light-up LED Cortana chip, and additional goodies.
