Get Ready for Tomorrow’s Nintendo Direct!
The rumors have been swirling for weeks, and it’s now official: a Nintendo Direct is set for tomorrow, as confirmed in the Nintendo Today app this morning. Mark your calendars for Tuesday, June 9, at 8 AM PT/11 AM ET. This event is slated to run for an impressive 50 minutes, followed by a 95-minute Nintendo Treehouse segment. That’s quite a lengthy showcase!
What can we expect to see? The speculation is rampant! There are whispers of a potential announcement for a remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time this year. Fans are also eagerly awaiting a release date for Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave. Plus, Nintendo likely has a few surprises up its sleeve, especially with the upcoming Switch 2 in mind. And seriously, when are we getting a new 3D Mario game?
We should also prepare for the possibility that some trailers might be repeats or offer “more details” on titles we’ve already seen during the recent Summer Game Fest and Xbox Showcase, so temper those expectations. Additionally, Nintendo has Splatoon Raiders, Rhythm Heaven Groove, and Star Fox lined up for release in the coming months, so we might catch some fresh footage of those games.
Personally, I’m crossing my fingers for two things: a release date for Deltarune Chapter 5 and some news on Pokopia DLC. I think both have a solid chance of being revealed, so if you hear some excited yelling from the Midwest when one of those announcements drops, don’t be alarmed—it’s just me celebrating.
Tomorrow’s Nintendo Direct has been a hot topic in the rumor mill as a fitting conclusion to the annual E3 replacement showcase series. It’s also not surprising, as Nintendo typically holds a Direct around this time each year.
