Meet Shion: Overwatch’s New Gunslinging Mob Boss Hero

The next hero joining the roster in Overwatch is Shion, a leader from the Hashimoto clan who collaborates with Vendetta for Talon. This was revealed in a new trailer showcasing Shion in an intense battle against Sojourn, with her official launch set for June 16 in season three.

Shion is a Damage-class character linked to the Hashimoto clan, known for their rivalry with the Shimada clan. True to her heritage, she sports an oni mask and wields dual weapons. With a striking motorcycle and a close-combat blade, her combat style is intriguing; it remains to be seen if her melee attack resembles Genji’s or if it introduces something unique to her abilities. The End of the Line trailer primarily serves as a cinematic introduction to Shion’s role in the Overwatch universe.

As the 52nd hero in Overwatch and the seventh introduced in 2026, Shion is part of the commitment to release a new hero each season. This year will see three additional heroes as part of the game’s rebranding and the celebration of Overwatch’s 10th anniversary. Season 3 will also feature a new map set in Japan, which ties into Shion’s storyline and marks the first new map for non-Stadium modes since the game’s relaunch.

Shion follows the recent introduction of Sierra, another Damage-class hero from season 2, and the five new heroes added in season 1. Unlike Sierra’s reveal, where she faced a tough defeat, Shion holds her ground against her foes.

The relaunch of Overwatch in February saw the removal of the “2” from the title, along with the addition of five new heroes: Domina (Tank), Anran (Damage), Emre (Damage), Jetpack Cat (Support), and Mizuki (Support, also a member of the Hashimoto clan). Blizzard aims to introduce a total of 10 new heroes throughout 2026.

Overwatch is available on Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
