Destiny 2’s latest update introduces 26 new catalysts—here’s how to complete your collection.
Strange as it may seem, Destiny 2’s monumental final update has arrived, signaling the conclusion of an era. Bungie has certainly made a splash with this release, introducing 26 new catalysts and refreshing nine existing ones. Every Exotic weapon now has a catalyst, ensuring no one gets left behind in this grand finale.
Here’s a rundown of the new catalysts, how to obtain them, and the changes made to existing ones. Be prepared for a bit of a grind, but with not much else on the horizon, it’s a perfect time to dive in.
The update brings 26 new catalysts to Exotic weapons that previously lacked them, meaning every golden-tier gun now has an upgrade option. While catalysts for raid and dungeon-exclusive Exotics remain tied to their respective activities, it appears that Exotics obtainable through random drops, quests, or the Exotic Archive have their catalysts available in the general loot pool. This means you can engage in ritual activities and complete Exotic Orders in hopes of snagging the catalysts you desire.
Most of these new and updated catalysts offer significant enhancements, and I have my personal favorites. Riskrunner stands out with its new Chain Reaction explosions, complementing its already impressive add-clearing capabilities. The Last Word also shines with its new catalyst, making it a must-have for gunslingers in both PvE and PvP.
One key takeaway from these new catalysts is that boss DPS is about to get a serious boost. With Anarchy and Divinity now applying Jolt, or The Lament applying scorch, bosses will be more vulnerable to extra damage. Additionally, Parasite’s Envious Arsenal allows you to reload it with other weapons during damage rotations, which is a game-changer. My top pick, however, is Repulsor Brace for Collective Obligation—a simple yet essential change that this raid exotic needed for years after being overshadowed by newer perks.
Here’s what each new catalyst offers and how to acquire them:

Bungie has also enhanced several Exotic weapon catalysts, making them more engaging—previously just stat bonuses, they now come with added perks.
Now features To the Pain as a catalyst perk, which perfectly complements its playstyle: While equipped, taking damage boosts handling and aim assist until the weapon is stowed.
This catalyst now includes Supercharged Magazine, which is quite useful: While amplified, ammo gradually transfers from reserves to the magazine. Running while amplified speeds up ammo regeneration and overflows the magazine.
You now benefit from Heal Clip, which grants Cure to you and nearby allies when reloading shortly after achieving a final blow—though it’s not the most thrilling addition.
Now has the Loose Change perk, enhancing the overall experience: Applying an elemental debuff to a target boosts reload speed, aim assist, and movement while aiming down sights for a brief period.
Gain access to Incandescent and Burning Ambition, a significant upgrade: Defeating a target spreads scorch to nearby enemies, and dealing sustained damage scorches the target.
This AoE powerhouse is even more formidable with Chain Reaction: Each final blow creates an elemental damage explosion.
It now features Danger Zone as a perk, though it may not be widely favored: The blast radius increases when surrounded by enemies, but while active, it deals significantly less damage to the user.
Now includes the new Light Touch perk for added usability: This weapon gains reload speed, handling, and aim down sights speed when you are Amplified, Radiant, or have Devour.
Rapid Hit has been replaced by Precision Instrument, which boosts overall damage: Dealing sustained damage increases precision damage.
Its special reload now consumes Fate of All Fools to grant a single micro missile round, dealing bonus damage based on the number of stacks consumed.
Its catalyst can now be activated by dealing sustained damage, in addition to securing kills.
Incandescent has been added to its catalyst, which is always a solid choice: Defeating a target spreads scorch to those nearby.
