This versatile portable light is perfect for more than just camping.

Designed for camping, the BougeRV T1 light proves to be an incredibly versatile companion for summer adventures, illuminating the darker corners of your life long after your travels. I took it along on a recent road trip in my camper van, and it’s become my go-to light even now that I’m back home.

This telescoping light features three adjustable LED arms that can project up to 3,000 lumens of white, warm, or red light in any direction. It can light up an area exceeding 1,000 square feet and serves multiple purposes: a flashlight, a mood light, and a 57Wh USB-C power bank capable of delivering up to 30W to charge your phone or even a laptop in a pinch.

The T1 is an upgrade from the BougeRV camping light I checked out last year. It extends to over 5.5 feet (168cm), making it easy to brighten up a campsite, workspace, or even an engine block, and its IPX5 rating means it can withstand a thunderstorm if left outside.

This light is so handy that I keep it in a seat pocket by the door of my van — a prime spot for gadgets I need to grab quickly, whether I’m inside or outside. Here’s how I’ve utilized the T1 camping light during nearly six months of testing:

It illuminated a campsite for an outdoor movie night.
It assisted in assembling my bike.
It powered my laptop at a café where I wrote this review.
It brightened up my workspace.
It helped a friend renovate his caravan.
It allowed me to inspect a subfloor after a water leak.
With the base retracted, it fit into tight spaces to help clean a sandy bathroom.
The hook made checking the fluids in my van a breeze.
The long telescoping arm was perfect for checking for damage after some off-roading.
The flashlight feature guided me home.
And it set the mood upon my return.

The only feature I wish it had is a magnetic base for easy attachment to metal surfaces. Its main drawbacks are the somewhat plasticky feel and the price. The BougeRV T1 telescopic camping light is priced at $119.99 but is frequently available for $84.99, which I consider a great deal for such a multifunctional light.
