Crimson Desert Update Transforms Game into a Pet Wonderland

Crimson Desert is packed with features, including the exciting option to recruit animal companions. The latest update, patch 1.11, enhances the pet simulation aspect significantly: players can now register up to 100 pets, with a maximum of 50 allowed in camp at any given time. That’s a whole lot of adorable critters! Additionally, baby wyverns now have their own dedicated map icon.

Many players found the previous pet cap of 30 a bit limiting, especially after the 1.09 update introduced 30 new pet types, such as hedgehogs, rabbits, and chipmunks. These furry friends aren’t just for show; they can accompany you into battle and help loot fallen foes.

In terms of other updates in 1.11, shopkeepers will now collect and resell lost loot, the pinball minigame has received improvements and a difficulty reduction, localization errors have been addressed, and certain characters can now wield the mining drill and chainsaw, among other enhancements.

Crimson Desert, an open-world RPG that debuted earlier this year, garnered solid reviews for its engaging combat and expansive world, though it faced criticism for issues like poor inventory management, clunky controls, and fast travel problems. Fortunately, many of these concerns have been tackled through a steady stream of patches.

The game now features more difficulty settings, the option to rematch any bosses, and a variety of new additions, including pinball. The previously controversial AI-generated art assets have been removed after the studio acknowledged the oversight, though this explanation doesn’t quite address the initial use of such assets. Pearl Abyss is also exploring ways to improve the game’s underwhelming story.

Regardless of how these developments unfold, the team recently confirmed that Crimson Desert has sold an impressive 6 million copies, indicating that support for this hit title will continue. They’ve also announced that full-fledged DLC is on the horizon.
