Lenovo’s upcoming tablet features a robust speaker design and an enhanced kickstand.

Lenovo has unveiled the latest iteration of its robust Tab Plus tablet, which continues to prioritize an immersive audio experience. The original Tab Plus, released two years ago, featured eight built-in speakers that necessitated a 13.58mm rear bulge. The new Tab Plus Gen 2 ups the ante with nine speakers, resulting in a thicker 22.7mm circular bump on the back. This speaker bump now includes a fold-out kickstand that rotates 360 degrees, allowing the tablet to be positioned in both portrait and landscape orientations.

While Lenovo hasn’t specified the exact launch date or locations for the Tab Plus Gen 2, it has indicated that it will be “available soon in select global markets.” The original model had a broad release, including in the US, where it debuted at $289.99. The new version, however, will start at $399.99. The Gen 2 is equipped with a MediaTek Dimensity 7400 octa-core processor, available in configurations ranging from 6GB to 12GB of RAM and 128GB to 256GB of storage, which can be expanded via a microSD card up to 2TB.

As with its predecessor, the Gen 2 boasts a Dolby Atmos-tuned speaker array that combines tweeters and woofers for enhanced bass performance. It also offers various EQ modes tailored for movies and music, and can function as a standalone Bluetooth speaker, streaming audio from other devices.

The tablet features an upgraded 12.1-inch 120Hz 2.5K LCD display and a larger 10,200mAh rechargeable battery, which Lenovo claims can support up to 15 hours of YouTube viewing on a single charge. The front camera remains at 8 megapixels, while the rear camera has been upgraded from 8 to 13 megapixels. It will ship with Android 16 and promises two years of Android OS updates along with four years of security patches, ensuring user protection until 2030.
