EA Sports FC 26 Launches on Game Pass Just in Time for the World Cup

As the future of studios like Compulsion Games, Ninja Theory, and Double Fine hangs in the balance, Xbox has unveiled its upcoming titles for Game Pass, and the selection feels a bit underwhelming. Leading the charge is EA Sports FC 26, the latest installment in EA’s soccer franchise, accompanied by a less-than-stellar entry in the Call of Duty series.

EA Sports FC 26 boasts an impressive roster with over 20,000 licensed players from more than 750 national teams and clubs. It promises “the most true-to-football experience ever” in its Career mode, allowing players to create their own customized footballer. You can assemble your ultimate Dream Team in Ultimate Team mode and take part in Live Events and tournaments. However, while EA Sports FC 26 arrives just as the FIFA World Cup 2026 begins to gain momentum, it’s worth noting that you won’t be able to compete in the World Cup itself, as EA no longer holds the FIFA license.

Also making its way to Game Pass is Call of Duty: Vanguard, the latest chapter set against the backdrop of World War II. Players can expect to run and gun through a campaign that spans the Pacific, Europe, and North Africa, before diving into Vanguard’s PvP multiplayer modes. Additionally, there’s a Zombies mode that takes players back to the WWII era. However, this 2021 release received a lukewarm response, earning only a 51% critics recommended score.

It’s also important to note that several games will be leaving Xbox Game Pass at the end of the month, and the titles departing might actually offer a more appealing lineup than the new additions. Here’s what’s set to leave on June 30:

Can a more affordable Game Pass and increased exclusivity turn things around?
