New Pokopia leaks heighten anticipation for the underwater DLC.
The trailer for the upcoming DLC of Pokémon Pokopia has fans buzzing with excitement, hinting at a wealth of new features and surprises. Recent artwork has surfaced, suggesting that the spinoff may unveil additional monsters and gameplay elements that haven’t been officially revealed yet. Speculation among fans indicates that the life simulation aspect could soon integrate one of the most beloved features from the main series.
On Tuesday, retailers shared a piece of artwork that ignited discussions within the Pokopia community. While the image is small, it contains several intriguing details.
Notably, Snubbull, who was absent from the trailer, appears to be making a comeback in one of the upcoming content updates. The original trailer also gave a fleeting glimpse of Manaphy, but this artwork provides our first clear look at the legendary Pokémon.
Fans will also notice the accessories featured in the artwork. Pokémon are depicted sporting various cosmetics like ties, wings, and hats, hinting at a plethora of customization options in the full DLC.
Another interesting detail is the presence of sparkles. While they could simply be a background effect, some speculate that these animations might be linked to interactions with joyful Pokémon. One theory suggests that these sparkles could indicate the introduction of alternate Pokémon colors, or shinies, into Pokopia. Given the time players invest in capturing shiny variants in the main games, their addition to Pokopia would be significant.
However, there’s a counterargument to this theory: Pokopia does not feature duplicate monsters, meaning each species appears only once. If shinies are introduced, they might not be color variations of existing Pokémon but rather entirely new creatures. Alternatively, Pokopia could use costumes to transform current characters into shinies.
What is certain is that the new underwater content promises to be substantial. One of the upcoming drops, Bubbly Basin, is already available for play. Additionally, Pokopia recently received a patch that enhanced Pokémon interactions and allowed follower Pokémon to use objects like chairs or beds alongside the player.
A paid expansion pass is also set to bring a wealth of new underwater content to this life simulation experience.
