New Spider-Man: Brand New Day Trailer Unveils The Hulk and Keeps Sadie Sink Mysterious Under a Hood
After making waves on social media, the latest trailer for Spider-Man: Brand New Day has officially dropped in high definition, free from watermarks and distractions. Following the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home, which hinted at Tom Holland’s Peter Parker returning to his roots in street-level crime-fighting, Brand New Day is packed with a roster of larger-than-life characters.
In Brand New Day, Peter is juggling a lot: he’s grappling with the fallout of the multiverse chaos that left everyone forgetting him, striving to be the friendly neighborhood Spider-Man, and facing an unknown force that’s overwhelming him. While the symbiote doesn’t make an appearance, there are whispers that this could lead to a Man-Spider storyline, where Spider-Man undergoes a monstrous transformation. One thing we do know is that the Hulk is back in action, with Mark Ruffalo reprising his role as Bruce Banner, hinting at some hulking moments in the film.
Joining the fray is Jon Bernthal’s Punisher, who finds himself reluctantly teaming up with Spider-Man as the plot thickens. The real intrigue lies with Sadie Sink’s character, whose role remains under wraps. Fans speculate she might be portraying Jean Grey, which would introduce the telekinetic mutant into the MCU when the film hits theaters on July 31. Marvel is keeping tight-lipped about this casting, though. While several actors from Fox’s X-Men films are confirmed for Avengers: Doomsday in December, it’s still unclear if Famke Janssen will reprise her role as Jean Grey. Additionally, there’s no confirmation yet on whether Holland will appear as Spider-Man in that film, but we may get more clarity after Brand New Day releases.
On a side note, if you’re still enjoying Insomniac’s Spider-Man 2, there’s a free update coming on July 28 that will add Peter’s suit from Brand New Day to your in-game wardrobe. Exciting times ahead!
