Check Out This Stunning New Clip of Vice City in GTA 6!
I always knew Grand Theft Auto 6 would be a massive title, and every screenshot and trailer has only solidified that belief. However, when I checked out the newly updated official GTA 6 website today, I was blown away by the vastness of Vice City. I wasn’t the only one feeling this way.
On June 18, the official cover art for GTA 6 was unveiled (and yes, it features a helicopter), along with the announcement that pre-orders for this eagerly awaited game would kick off on June 25 across console storefronts and select retailers. The official GTA 6 website also received a subtle update, showcasing the game’s cover art and, more thrillingly, a new eight-second clip of Vice City that plays as you scroll down.
If you dig into the site’s code, you can extract the full high-resolution video to marvel at. This is exactly what longtime GTA leaker and dataminer TexFunz2 did, as shown below:
A new look at Vice City
And wow. I’ve got the full-resolution video on my PC, and I can’t tear my eyes away from it. The city is incredibly detailed and densely packed. You can gaze into the distance and see lights and buildings that seem to stretch for miles. It’s genuinely impressive. Remember, Rockstar has a history of using in-engine footage and real gameplay for their trailers, so this isn’t just some pre-rendered fluff; it’s a true glimpse of what Vice City will look like in GTA 6. Amazing.
Online reactions have been largely positive, though a few trolls have claimed it looks bad, which is a curious take to have.
“The attention to detail in this city is insane,” one user remarked about the new clip.
“What’s so beautiful about this is how the lights look at night, especially on the street. I just came back from Miami, and the accuracy is literally insane,” another user added.
One user even shared a side-by-side comparison of Vice City at night from the PS2 game and GTA 6’s version of the city, highlighting just how far the series has come in over 20 years.
Grand Theft Auto 6 is set to launch on November 19 for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, with pre-orders starting on June 25. I don’t anticipate any delays this time around.
