Grand Theft Auto 6 Priced at $80, with a $100 Ultimate Edition Offering Exclusive Bonuses at Launch

Pre-orders for Grand Theft Auto VI are set to kick off on June 25, but Rockstar Games has already unveiled the pricing for this highly anticipated open-world title. The base game will launch at $80, with an Ultimate Edition priced at $100. This marks an increase from the $70 price point established by the parent company with NBA 2K21 at the start of the PlayStation and Xbox Series X console generation in 2020, aligning more closely with Nintendo’s launch price for Mario Kart World last year.

Scheduled for release on November 19, 2026, for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, Grand Theft Auto VI promises a single-player experience that represents the largest and most immersive evolution of the franchise to date.

The Ultimate Edition will offer an exclusive collection of premium vehicles, weapons, apparel, and narrative elements tied to the dual protagonists, Jason and Lucia. Additionally, pre-orders will grant players access to the Vintage Vice City Pack, featuring nostalgic items inspired by the vibrant ’80s, along with a complimentary month of GTA+.

This subscription service is touted as the best way to fully engage with the ever-evolving world of GTA Online, allowing players to instantly redeem it for access to Grand Theft Auto V and other classic Rockstar titles within the GTA+ Games Library. This suggests that a new version of GTA Online may not be available right at the launch of GTA VI.

At $80, Grand Theft Auto VI will be the most expensive single game available on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S at launch, though not by a significant margin. Analysts had previously speculated that Rockstar could potentially charge up to $100 per copy, with some arguing that doing so might benefit the industry as development costs rise while game prices remain relatively stable.

One consideration for Rockstar in setting the price is the increased cost of new gaming consoles, which now start at $600. Many new players will need to invest in a console upgrade this fall to experience GTA VI if they haven’t already done so during this hardware cycle.
