The final season of The Boys wrapped up in May, but Jack Quaid is keeping his schedule packed. He lends his voice to Superman in My Adventures with Superman, which kicked off its third season in June, and he’s also set to join another popular superhero series next year.
At a panel during the Annecy Festival, Invincible creator and showrunner Robert Kirkman unveiled a clip from the upcoming season 5. The clip showcases Quaid’s character, Gravitator, who uses his gravity manipulation abilities to pull off a bank heist and zip between skyscrapers during his escape.
However, his getaway is interrupted by Invincible (voiced by Steven Yeun), who soars up next to him. As Gravitator aims his gravity-manipulating weapon at Invincible, the hero questions, “Do you really want to do this?” Gravitator pauses, ultimately deciding against a confrontation with one of Earth’s mightiest heroes, remarking, “I saw you on the news. Maybe if it was Rex Splode.”
That’s a wise choice, considering the world witnessed Invincible’s true power during the chaotic invasion of alternate dimension Invincibles in season 3. Rex Splode (voiced by Jason Mantzoukas) met his end while battling an Invincible.
Quaid joins a roster of notable stars in Prime Video’s acclaimed series, which includes Lee Pace, J. K. Simmons, Mark Hamill, and others. With the announcement of a sixth season renewal, the show will have even more opportunities to expand its cast and epic narrative.
