Everything We Know About the Characters in GTA 6 So Far
June 25, 2026: This guide has been refreshed with fresh insights from the latest batch of screenshots that dropped alongside the opening of GTA 6’s pre-order window. While we haven’t seen any new characters yet, we did get a closer look at the customization options available for our main characters, Lucia and Jason.
Grand Theft Auto 6 is still on the horizon, but we’ve caught glimpses of Vice City’s vibrant inhabitants through some visually stunning official bios to tide us over. As expected, many of the characters we’ll encounter are involved in criminal activities, though there will likely be some law enforcement types mixed in as well.
Details about Lucia, Jason, and the colorful supporting cast remain sparse, but Rockstar has provided more context following the release of the second trailer.
Lucia Caminos and Jason Duval are the two central figures in GTA 6, embodying a modern-day Bonnie and Clyde. A common question that arose after both trailers is about the various mystery women featured; it turns out many of them are just different looks for Lucia, with Jason experiencing a similar treatment, albeit to a lesser degree. Here’s a rundown of the customization options we’ve seen for both characters so far:
One character missing from the second trailer is Lucia’s correctional social worker, who, thanks to some keen detective work (noticing her nameplate), is identified as Stefanie.
We hope to see more of her later, but for now, here’s a list of characters confirmed for Grand Theft Auto 6, along with what we know about each:
Lucia is one of the main protagonists in Grand Theft Auto 6 and the first female lead in the series. She received significant screen time in the first trailer and appears frequently in the second. Originally from Liberty City, her journey to Vice City remains a mystery.
According to her official bio, her father taught her how to defend herself from a young age, a skill that has undoubtedly served her well in adulthood.
It seems her desire to provide for her family led to her imprisonment, with “sheer luck” being the reason for her release at the game’s start.
Lucia is romantically linked to Jason Duval, though the depth of their relationship is still unclear. They appear quite comfortable with each other, both in their criminal endeavors and personal lives.
Jason is the other half of the protagonist duo in Grand Theft Auto 6, serving as both Lucia’s romantic partner and criminal accomplice.
His childhood was steeped in crime, and he later joined the military in an attempt to escape his past. However, that plan didn’t pan out, as he’s been involved with drug runners in Vice City for an undisclosed period.
In the second trailer, he’s seen picking up Lucia after her release from prison, and their chemistry is evident as they quickly reconnect.
Whether their relationship began before her incarceration or developed during her time in prison remains a mystery, but they certainly exhibit the comfort of a long-term couple.
Together, they engage in a series of criminal activities, supporting each other throughout.
Raul Batista is described in his bio as “a seasoned bank robber always on the hunt for talent,” though his experience doesn’t seem to guarantee safety during heists.
His bio suggests he’s becoming increasingly reckless, which will likely lead to some chaotic encounters with Jason and Lucia.
Among the side characters, Brian stands out as he appears most frequently in the second trailer.
His bio labels him “a classic drug runner from the golden age of smuggling in the Keys.” While he’s still involved in the drug trade, he primarily delegates the dirty work to others.
The house Jason is seen fixing at the beginning belongs to Brian, who is currently allowing Jason to stay there rent-free in exchange for his criminal services.
We don’t have much information about Cal yet, other than that he’s friends with Jason and connected to Brian Heder, another side character introduced in the second trailer.
Cal seems to fill a role akin to GTA 5’s Lester, snooping on communications and spending too much time online.
In the second trailer, he’s spotted at a bar with Lucia and Jason, and later enjoying a beer. He doesn’t say much, but he appears to be set up for a more comedic role within the group.
Boobie is a significant player in Vice City, and his bio hints at a past as a petty criminal—if his quote is anything to go by: “The club money pays for the studio, and the drug money pays for it all.”
He’s built a legitimate empire, dabbling in real estate, recording studios, and even a strip club.
While his exact role in the story is still under wraps, he’s linked to fellow character Dre’Quan Priest, suggesting he’ll cross paths with Jason and Lucia early on.
Dre’Quan is characterized in his bio as “more of a hustler than a gangster,” with his drug-dealing days primarily aimed at making ends meet while he pursues a music career.
He’s making strides, running his own label, Only Raw Records, and has signed the duo Real Dimez, with some backing from Boobie, whose strip club Dre’Quan has been booking gigs for.
Details about Dre’Quan and his role in the main story remain limited, but we can expect a variety of side missions from him.
Roxy and Bae-Luxe, friends since high school, form the rap duo Real Dimez, complete with necklaces featuring their names for easy identification.
They’ve made a name for themselves on social media, but their music career has mostly been defined by a one-hit wonder with rapper DWNPLY, a character we currently know little about.
Five years have passed since that hit, and they’re now signed to Dre’Quan’s Only Raw Records, hoping for another breakthrough. Their bio suggests they have the savvy to turn their time hustling local dealers into cash through catchy rap tracks and a strong social media presence.
While Roxy doesn’t appear in the second trailer, we do catch a glimpse of Bae-Luxe saying “brap, brap, brap.”
Unlike Lucia and Jason, the official from the Leonida Department of Corrections introduced at the trailer’s start seems to play a supporting role rather than a central one. If the nameplate on her desk is accurate, her name is Stefanie.
