Grand Theft Auto 6 pre-orders are now open, along with details about the Ultimate Edition. However, some fans are feeling let down after Rockstar Games announced that the “physical” version will only include a download code in a box instead of a traditional disc.

A recent leak from a Polish gaming site suggests that a disc version of GTA 6 could be available just weeks after the November 19 release date. According to the translated report, “GTA 6 will initially be sold with a code in the box, and then a standard boxed version with a disc will be released, allowing players to run GTA 6 without linking a key to their PlayStation or Xbox account.” The leak indicates that this disc edition might hit shelves in December 2026, right before the holiday season.

An updated article also features a screenshot from Rockstar’s customer service, where a representative mentions that “current pre-orders are for the digital update only. A physical copy will be available for purchase in the coming months.” While this statement is somewhat ambiguous—since “digital update only” doesn’t clearly convey a download code, and “physical copy” doesn’t guarantee a disc—it’s another hint that the leak could be accurate. However, the statement only confirms that a physical version will be available “in the coming months,” without a firm commitment to the December timeline.

For credibility, it’s worth noting that this site was the first to report earlier this year that GTA 6 would not have a physical release.
