First Full Trailer for Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 Unleashes Wild Action

If you were concerned that *Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2* might slow down compared to its predecessor, Studio Trigger is here to ease those worries. The first major trailer for the upcoming sci-fi series, set to launch this fall, is an exhilarating sensory experience.

We’re introduced to the new main cast of four characters, showcasing a barrage of explosions, violence, and gritty footage. Much of the trailer is presented through VHS recordings made by Roman Carax, a young film enthusiast captivated by analog media. His mission to document Night City leads him into the chaotic world of the gang’s hyperviolent members.

The crew includes D, a netrunner from Snake Nation seeking vengeance for his clan’s destruction; Talia Yang, a former corporate operative with impressive acrobatic skills; and Weak “King” Kingsley, a seasoned Edgerunner whose unsettling eyes reveal his struggle with cyberpsychosis. King’s brutal takedowns are undeniably thrilling. The trailer features the track “You Can’t Run From Me,” penned by Maria Kelly and Drew Polovick and performed by Rico Nasty, perfectly capturing the show’s edgy vibe.

While the specifics may be hard to decipher amid the chaos, the dynamic action hints that the animation quality for this new season will be top-notch. Although Studio Trigger founder Hiroyuki Imaishi isn’t directing this time, animation co-director Kai Ikarashi appears to be stepping up to the challenge. Bartosz Sztybor returns as showrunner, with Masahiko Otsuka back on writing duties. Former animation co-director Ichigo Kanno is now leading the character design.

This new series consists of 10 standalone episodes set in the same universe as *Cyberpunk 2077*, suggesting it might not end on a cheerful note. The original *Cyberpunk: Edgerunners* was a massive success and played a significant role in revitalizing *Cyberpunk 2077* after its rocky launch. The show featured a compelling setting, stunning visuals, and a cast of endearing misfits. Following that success is no small feat, but this initial glimpse of *Edgerunners 2* looks very promising.

The future of *Cyberpunk* is all about heart—real characters, genuine stakes, and a narrative that resonates more deeply than just chrome, setting it apart from *2077*.
