All the Latest Persona 4 Updates from Anime Expo 2026
At Anime Expo 2026, Atlus hosted a panel for Persona 4 Revival, the remake of the classic PlayStation 2 RPG. Attendees got an inside look at the game, including the announcement of Rise Kujikawa’s new voice actress and details about the anime cutscenes.
General producer Kazuhisa Wada, business producer Yoshuke Uda, and character designer Shigenori Soejima were present to share insights. They kicked things off by showcasing some exclusive Anime Expo merchandise, providing an overview of the remake, and presenting a brief video that highlighted the visual enhancements from Persona 4 Golden to Persona 4 Revival. A character trailer for Rise Kujikawa revealed that Abby Trott will be voicing her in English.
The trailers for Persona 4 Revival have featured entirely new anime cutscenes, and Atlus confirmed that they are collaborating with MAPPA for this project. MAPPA is well-known for its work on popular series like Jujutsu Kaisen and Chainsaw Man, and they also animated the opening for Persona 5 Royal, making this partnership a natural fit.
Attendees were treated to a sneak peek of one of MAPPA’s cutscenes, showcasing the protagonist, Yosuke, and Teddy as they face off against eerie enemies and awaken their personas for the first time.
The panel wrapped up with the exciting news that the previously released anime series, Persona 4: The Animation and Persona 4: The Golden Animation, will be re-released on Aniplex USA’s YouTube channel from July 4 to August 19. This means both series will be available for free, serving as a perfect lead-in to the remake.
While there weren’t any groundbreaking revelations, the panel reassured Persona fans that there’s plenty to anticipate with this remake. Persona 4 Revival is set to launch on February 18, 2027, for PlayStation 5, Windows PC, and Xbox Series X, and it will be available on Xbox Game Pass on release day.
Stay excited, fellow Persona enthusiasts; this is the game we’ve all been waiting for!
