Crimson Desert Enhances Playable Characters for a More Engaging Experience

Pearl Abyss has rolled out a fresh update for Crimson Desert, enhancing the gameplay experience for Damiane and Oongka. Both characters now enjoy a wider selection of outfits and can finally venture into the Abyss.

When Crimson Desert debuted in March, it primarily spotlighted Kliff, but players could also take on the roles of Damiane and Oongka. However, in a game as expansive as Crimson Desert, these two characters felt somewhat underdeveloped compared to Kliff, lacking in customization options, access to certain areas, and useful abilities.

In a roadmap shared in June, Pearl Abyss assured players that they would enhance Damiane and Oongka’s gameplay, ensuring all three characters would shine equally.

With Patch 1.13, we’re witnessing some of these promised changes. Oongka can now don most of Kliff’s outfits, with 39 new pieces introduced in this update. Damiane, on the other hand, can equip outfits inspired by the Odeck, Dark Marksman, and Masked Liberator bosses, along with eight new armor pieces.

Additionally, both Damiane and Oongka can now explore the Abyss, unlocking a significant portion of the game that was previously inaccessible to them. The locations of memory fragments in the Abyss have been rearranged, encouraging players to revisit this area for rematches against certain bosses.

While these updates may not completely overhaul the game, they demonstrate Pearl Abyss’s dedication to fulfilling its commitments outlined in Crimson Desert’s roadmap. The update also introduces some unexpected features, such as allowing pets to rest with players in bed and the option to hide the minimap and other HUD elements through the settings.
