Exciting New Lego Pokémon Sets Unveiled, Featuring Legendary Rayquaza and a Giant Red!
Pokémon celebrated its 30th anniversary this year, and like many millennials hitting that milestone, it’s diving into the world of Lego. Earlier in 2026, the Pokémon Company teamed up with Lego for the first time, launching sets featuring Pikachu, Eevee, and the final evolutions of the Kanto starters. Recently, Lego unveiled its next wave of Pokémon sets, including one dedicated to a beloved Legendary Pokémon. Three of these sets will drop on August 1, coinciding with the newly announced Smart Play Pokémon sets, while the Iconic Trainer Moments Poké Ball and the massive Red figure will be available starting October 1.
The upcoming sets include Munchlax, Arcanine, and Rayquaza. Munchlax, the adorable and always-hungry Pokémon that evolves into the iconic Snorlax, will come with a scene featuring him lounging on a tree stump surrounded by apple cores. Arcanine, another classic from the Kanto region, will be represented in a set that focuses solely on assembling the fire-type Pokémon, with nearly 1,200 pieces dedicated to this majestic creature.
Completing the new lineup is a set for Rayquaza, the Legendary Pokémon first introduced in Pokémon Emerald. This green dragon will be depicted soaring above the Sky Pillar, its home in the game, alongside a Lego minifigure of Lorekeeper Zinnia, a new addition to the Lego Pokémon series. The design director at Lego previously mentioned that the initial wave of Pokémon sets didn’t include minifigures because the kids are meant to be the Trainers.
Given those earlier comments, it’s a bit surprising that the next two sets focus heavily on Pokémon trainers. The Iconic Trainer Moments Poké Ball is a large Poké Ball that comes with three Trainer minifigures (Professor Oak, Picnicker, and Red) along with figures for Pikachu and Eevee. Priced at $299.99, it’s the most expensive set in this release, featuring a total of 2,339 pieces. Trainer Red also gets his own impressive set, standing nearly a foot tall.
All the new sets are available for pre-order from Lego. Munchlax, Arcanine, and Rayquaza will launch on August 1, while the Poké Ball and Red Minifigure will hit shelves on October 1.
2026 has been a significant year for Pokémon, with a surge in games, trading cards, and merchandise. The past few months have seen a flurry of new Pokémon products, from a mini jukebox to a giant Snorlax rug and even luggage designed for your Pokémon plushies. Now, with over a dozen new Pokémon Lego sets on the horizon, the excitement continues to grow.
