The top puzzle game of 2025 is set to enter the esports arena.
In the gaming community, there’s a strong consensus that Blue Prince stands out as the top game of 2025. This puzzle-roguelike from Dogubomb, helmed by Tonda Ros, is packed with secrets, challenging players to explore an ever-evolving mansion and unravel its mysteries. Even after clocking in 100 hours, you’ll likely still discover new elements and insights.
Blue Prince made waves at the Summer Games Done Quick in 2025, where speedrunners RadRingtail and BobbyBurm faced off in an exciting “bingo” race. This unique format combined the primary objective of reaching the antechamber, or room 46, with various side challenges.
In July, a dedicated Blue Prince tournament will take place, following similar bingo-style rules and organized by Dogubomb. With a prize pool of $20,000, aspiring competitors can join in through two qualifiers on July 12 and 19. The top four from these qualifiers will team up with eight invited players, including RadRingtail from SGDQ 2025, while BobbyBurm will host the event.
Grasping all the tournament rules can be quite a challenge, especially if you’re not already familiar with the competitive Blue Prince scene. For instance, players can utilize prism key warps and the lint roller trick, but intentional glitches and restarting the game to retry a day are off-limits. The tournament features various game modes, including a 5×5 board where the first to reach 13 wins, and a 7×7 board where the player with the most completed goals in one hour takes the victory.
In addition to cash prizes, participants can earn keys that unlock doors during the tournament live stream. These keys can lead to rewards like the Blue Prince original soundtrack on vinyl, exclusive concept art, and physical books inspired by in-game items, all signed by Tonda Ros.
