Essential Steam dating app guides your next gaming choice
We all have that gaming backlog—those titles we started but never finished, the ones we snagged during sales with the best intentions, and those that linger in our libraries, silently challenging us to dive in.
Deciding where to begin tackling that backlog can be a real struggle, but there’s a new tool designed to help you make that choice. Think of it as Tinder for your Steam library. It’s called Dustpile, created by a user known as tolgatr0n from Dumbbell Games. To get started, simply paste your Steam profile link, set some parameters like how long you’ve played certain games, and hit “load my library.”
Once you do, you’ll see a randomized list of your Steam games that fit your criteria. Each game appears on a virtual card, allowing you to swipe left (pass) or swipe right (add to your list).
Each card features the game’s Steam tags, a brief summary, estimated completion time, top user reviews, and more. You can click the “smart order” button to see games sorted by your genre preferences and ratings, or use “I’m feeling lucky” for a random pick from your list.
If you’re on the hunt for a new game to buy, you can browse your wishlist in the same way. Just keep in mind that this won’t filter out unreleased titles, so you’ll need to check those release dates yourself. Plus, if you want to team up with a friend, you can filter for co-op games that you both own.
When your list is ready, you can enter “face-off” mode, which pits all the games you’ve swiped right on against each other in a knockout bracket to find the ultimate winner. Alternatively, you can rank them in a tier list or export your selections as a JSON or CSV file. Personally, I’ve realized I really need to finish Zero Parades.
Factors like playtime, Metacritic scores, and game types will influence how Game Quest tailors its recommendations to you.
