Ultimate Task Bar Hero Class Rankings and Top Team Compositions for Effortless Endgame Progression

I’ve dedicated weeks to playing Task Bar Hero as part of my daily routine, and after investing over 300 hours into this desktop auto-battler, I can confidently say it ranks among my favorite idle games. Micromanaging the pixelated heroes at the bottom of my screen has really tapped into my ‘number must go up’ gamer mentality, so I’ve put together my thoughts on a Task Bar Hero tier list.

Having conquered all four difficulty levels and maxed out my heroes to level 101, here’s my definitive tier list for the current meta. While I’ve purchased both DLC classes, I want to emphasize that my top two picks, Ranger and Priest, are both free.

S-Tier

Ranger

A-Tier

Priest

B-Tier

Hunter, Sorcerer

C-Tier

Slayer

D-Tier

Knight

Ranger

Sorcerer

Role

Tank/Healer

DPS

AoE-heavy DPS

Priest quickly outperforms both Slayer and Knight in tanking with minimal investment. You might face some challenges in the mid-tier difficulties, but with a few lucky gear upgrades, she’ll start to hold her ground long enough for Ranger and Sorcerer to clear out enemy waves. Focus on leveling her Blessing of Might skill to provide a damage boost for the entire team.

While your Sorcerer can decimate the enemy wave’s HP, a swift Ranger should easily finish off the frontlines in just one or two shots.

Healer/Off-Tank

DPS

Opt for Slayer over Knight due to his party buff, Commander’s Cry, which provides an easy path to increased damage. Position him as your tank, funneling your best armor to keep him alive, while saving gear upgrades for Priest as a secondary priority. She can hang back in the middle, casting heals and Blessing of Might.

Ranger stands out as the top choice for a single DPS team and is truly the star of the show. Prioritize her for any damage upgrade materials, and boost her attack speed whenever possible. Sorcerer may not be able to carry a three-man team as the sole DPS, but if you’re lucky with Hunter weapon drops, you can swap her in for Ranger. She’s not my first choice, but she can hold her own until you find better upgrades for Ranger.

Not only is Ranger my only S-tier pick, but she can also tear through enemy waves solo. When you hit Torment difficulty, it’s often more effective for her damage output to go in alone.

Take levels like Torment 2-8, for instance, where you face waves of exploding Fire Elementals. Bringing in two extra characters can disrupt Ranger’s DPS by staggering enemy HP and positions, and your other allies will likely fall quickly to the mobs. They can also inadvertently lead to Ranger’s demise, but you can avoid a wipe by sending her in solo, allowing her to unleash perfectly timed cooldowns and auto-attacks.

I found it easier to farm most Torment difficulty stages with Ranger alone, at least until my entire party was fully equipped with upgraded endgame gear. In the current meta, investing all your resources into gear upgrades for Ranger is a solid strategy, so prioritize her first to streamline farming for other Task Bar Hero characters.
