Palworld developers confirm no price increase for full game release.
Palworld, the survival game often dubbed “Pokémon with guns,” has been in early access since January 2024. Recently, the developer announced that the full Version 1.0 will launch on July 10. Like many early access games, there was speculation that the $29.99 price tag might increase upon full release, as indicated on its store page.
However, on Wednesday, the developer confirmed that Palworld will stay at $29.99 as a gesture of appreciation for its community. In a post on social media, they expressed pride in the game’s journey, stating, “We are incredibly proud of how far Palworld has come. Thanks to the amazing support of our players, it has become a success beyond our wildest dreams.”
And it truly has been a success, even in light of a lawsuit from Nintendo and The Pokémon Company that led to some adjustments in gameplay mechanics. The developer revealed that 40 million players have experienced the open-world creature collector. While this number doesn’t reflect total sales—thanks to its availability on Xbox Game Pass—it still represents a significant player base for a game that’s not yet three years old.
If you haven’t tried Palworld yet, now is an excellent time to dive in. With the upcoming Version 1.0 set to introduce new Pals, fresh areas to explore, and more, the excitement is palpable. Plus, the game is currently on sale on Steam. Until July 9 at 1:00 p.m. EDT, you can grab it for $20.99, a 30% discount.
It shouldn’t work, but it does.
