Pokémon Legends: Z-A Set to Transform with Major Changes Next Week
Pokémon Legends: Z-A is shaking things up in its online battles with some major changes. Season 12 removed all restrictions on Pokémon usage, but Season 13 flipped the script by banning all legendary and mythical Pokémon from Ranked Battles.
As we gear up for Season 14, set to launch next week, prepare for a twist: only Flying-type Pokémon will be allowed in battles. Trainers can choose from Pokémon in both the base game’s Pokédex and the Mega Dimension DLC’s Pokédex.
Here’s the complete list of eligible Pokémon from the Lumiose Pokédex:
And here’s the lineup from the Hyperspace Pokédex:
You can include either Yveltal or Rayquaza on your team, but not both. In Ranked Battles, all Pokémon will be automatically set to level 50, ensuring a more balanced competition.
In Pokémon Legends: Z-A’s Ranked Battles, four trainers face off using the game’s unique real-time mechanics. Each trainer fields a team of three Pokémon, earning points for every opponent’s Pokémon they knock out. As in the base game, Mega Evolving your Pokémon is crucial for securing victory.
Season 14 will also bring rewards in the form of Mega Stones. As you climb the ranks from Rank Y to Rank S, you’ll earn Greninjite, Delphoxite, Chesnaughtite, Baxcalibrite, Sceptilite, Swampertite, and Blazikenite stones.
Mark your calendars: Season 14 kicks off on Wednesday, July 15, at 11:00 p.m. PDT and runs until Wednesday, Aug. 5, at 6:59 p.m. PDT. With the spotlight on Flying-type Pokémon, it might just be the perfect moment for that shiny Pidgey you caught early on to shine in battle.
