Albert Wesker’s Voice Actor Excluded from Convention Following Abuse Claims [Update]

Craig Burnatowski, known for voicing the iconic Resident Evil antagonist Albert Wesker in the remake of Resident Evil 4 and recently portraying the new villain Zeno in Resident Evil Requiem, has been dropped from an upcoming convention appearance. This decision follows allegations made by a woman who claims to have dated him for a year, stating that he was “mentally, emotionally abusive and manipulative,” and that he physically harmed her.

Monica Denizen, a streamer and artist, shared her allegations on social media, revealing that Burnatowski allegedly caused her physical harm on two occasions during intimate moments. She mentioned that one of her injuries has yet to heal, leading her to consult a surgical specialist for potential further treatment.

“It’s been four months since I ended this relationship and I am going public with this,” Denizen stated. “I do so knowing that I may receive backlash and threats, but I won’t keep silent and protect my abuser.”

In a follow-up post, Denizen expressed gratitude to her supporters and provided more details about the alleged abuse, advising readers to proceed with caution.

In response to the allegations, Fantasy & Magic Con, a convention in Warsaw where Burnatowski was set to appear for signings and Resident Evil panels, acknowledged the situation. They stated that it would be inappropriate to make any hasty decisions before confirming the facts, promising to keep attendees updated. However, they later announced that Burnatowski would no longer be attending the event.

Dear Attendees,

We regret to inform you that we have decided to cancel Craig Burnatowski’s appearance at this year’s Fantasy & Magic Con.

After reviewing the recent reports that have surfaced, we believe this is the most appropriate action under the circumstances. We are dedicated to ensuring that Fantasy & Magic Con remains a safe and comfortable environment for all attendees, guests, and partners.

All tickets purchased for autographs and photo ops with Craig Burnatowski will be automatically refunded. No further action is required on your part.

Additionally, the previously scheduled Resident Evil group photo op will now be adjusted to a 4-person photo op. If you purchased a ticket for the group photo op, please reach out to us at bilety@fantasymagiccon.pl.

We sincerely apologize for this situation and appreciate your understanding.

See you at Fantasy & Magic Con!

While Burnatowski is not officially linked to the project, Wesker is expected to feature in the upcoming Resident Evil: Code Veronica remake set to release next year. We have reached out for comments from both Capcom and Burnatowski regarding the situation and will provide updates if we receive any responses.

Update: 7/9/26, 14:00 p.m. ET: Burnatowski has released a statement on his Instagram denying the allegations.

I want to be crystal clear: I believe consent and mutual respect are at the core of every relationship. I behave that way every day of my life.

I am devastated by the unfounded accusations that have been made against me over the last two days by someone with whom I had a one-year romantic relationship. This individual, who visited me multiple times in my hometown, was welcomed by my friends and family. During every visit, I did everything I could to ensure she felt comfortable and enjoyed her time here. At no point did we have an aggressive or uncomfortable encounter, nor did she ever indicate that she felt uncomfortable.

To put it frankly, I was completely shocked to read what she wrote over the last several days. I don’t know why she’s making these claims. They are not true. I hope to continue demonstrating my core values of respect, honesty, and kindness to this community.
