Final Fantasy 14 Unveils Exciting Details for July’s Fan Fest

With just a couple of weeks to go before the Berlin Fan Fest for Final Fantasy 14, Square Enix is starting to reveal what fans can look forward to at the event. The schedule for the Fan Fest stage and streaming has been released, giving players a glimpse of the announcements set to unfold in Berlin on July 25-26.

Anticipation for the MMO’s upcoming expansion, Evercold, has been building since its announcement in April. With a release window set for January 2027, this major update is on the horizon. The Berlin Fan Fest will serve as a platform for Square Enix to unveil a wealth of new information about the expansion and the significant changes it will introduce to the game. Here’s what to expect and how to catch all the key events.

The spotlight at Berlin Fan Fest will be on Final Fantasy 14: Evercold, the next major expansion for the MMO. It’s likely that a solid release date will be revealed during the event. The previous Fan Fest kept details about Evercold’s storyline under wraps, so fans can expect more insights into what the Warrior of Light will encounter in the new snowy region.

Gameplay changes are also on the horizon with Evercold, and the community is eager for more details. A new seasonal model was announced, and while Producer and Director Naoki Yoshida clarified that this doesn’t mean a season pass, fans are looking for further explanation on how it will function. One of the most significant updates is the newly introduced Evolved Mode for combat, which will transform how jobs operate. Specifics about this new system were not shared during the April Fan Fest, and given some community concerns, a deeper dive into Evolved Mode is anticipated in Berlin.

Typical expansion announcements from Square Enix are also expected. At least one of the two new jobs that Evercold will introduce is likely to be revealed, though it’s doubtful both will be showcased, as Square Enix will want to save some surprises for the Tokyo Fan Fest later this year. Additionally, fans may get a closer look at the upcoming Neon Genesis Evangelion crossover, which will be part of the Alliance Raid series in Evercold.

However, it won’t be all about Evercold. The “Letter from the Producer” segment on the official Final Fantasy XIV site indicates it will also cover “all things Beastmaster,” the latest limited job set to debut on September 8 as part of patch 7.56. The development team has already teased some intriguing mechanics for this job, and it will be exciting to see how it fits into the MMO landscape.

All major events at the Berlin Fan Fest will be streamed for the public. Players can tune in via the official Final Fantasy 14 YouTube or Twitch channels. Most events will be available for free, with the exception of the piano concert on day one and the Primals performance on day two, which will require paid access; more details on this will be shared later.

Here’s the complete schedule for Berlin Fan Fest so you won’t miss any of the major announcements.
