Get ready: Campaign 4 of Critical Role is making its comeback sooner than expected!

It’s been just a few weeks since Critical Role took a breather from Campaign 4, and already we’re feeling the absence of the Soldiers, Seekers, and Schemers tables. Luckily, fans have something to sink their teeth into with the debut episode of the new miniseries, Age of Umbra: Sallowlands, which premiered on July 9.

If you’re itching to dive back into the Game of Thrones-esque realm of Aramán, crafted with finesse by Dungeon Master Brennan Lee Mulligan, you’re in for a treat: Campaign 4 is set to make its return on August 27.

This exciting news surfaced from photos snapped at Critical Role’s live show in Berlin, Projekt Funball. The images, which made their rounds on social media, showcase the Critical Role logo alongside a message stating, “Campaign 4 returns August 27th,” along with a list of platforms—Beacon, YouTube, and Twitch—where fans can catch the action.

When we last left our heroes, the final arc of Campaign 4 unveiled some jaw-dropping twists, including Thjazi Fang’s ambitious scheme to turn the Hallowed Round into a bridge to the orcish afterlife in the Dying Fields. Additionally, Mara the Wing disclosed that The Cloak aimed to restore the lost bridge to other afterlives following the Shaper’s War.

With a 13-player cast pursuing their own objectives, they’ve split into three tables once again. Thaisha is off to Dol-Rungja to visit her grandmother, while Hal, Murray, Azune, Wick, and Tyranny remain in Dol-Makjar to tackle the political turmoil there. Meanwhile, Occtis, Julien, Vaelus, Thimble, Bolaire, and Kattigan are heading to the Golden Orchard to rendezvous with Mara the Wing and her contact. There’s a lot brewing, and we can’t wait to see what Mulligan has in store for the second arc of Campaign 4.

Though we have a few weeks until Critters return to Aramán, the silver lining is that fans have ample time to rewatch or catch up on previous episodes before the epic fantasy series makes its comeback.

In the meantime, Critical Role’s Daggerheart miniseries, Sallowlands, will keep you thoroughly entertained—especially if you enjoy the darker, more macabre side of storytelling.

World-building doesn’t have to be a lonely affair.
