Where to Find Nightstar Sand in Palworld
I was on the hunt for Nightstar Sand after kicking off a new save for the Palworld 1.0 release, but it turns out this mid-game crafting material is still all about good old-fashioned gathering. You’ll need to collect it manually to craft various items from tech tree recipes starting around level 56.
Luckily, I’ve been farming this stuff since early access, so I’ve got some tips for digging up those glowing bits. Here’s how to snag Nightstar Sand in Palworld, along with some strategies to make your farming sessions more efficient.
A great spot to farm Nightstar Sand is in the Dessicated Dunes at night. Just fast travel to the Searing Dunes Watchtower, look north, and glide off the cliff to the glowing sand nodes below.
These Nightstar Sand nodes only appear after dark, with their faint glow starting just as the sun sets. You might even get lucky and spot some during the day, but that’s a matter of chance and keeping an eye out for the action prompt. You won’t need a ton of it, and I managed to gather enough for my crafting needs after just a few nighttime excursions.
On Feybreak Island, the deposits often stretch further inland, so follow the trails of Nightstar Sand from the light-colored beaches into the grassy areas. I’ve collected around 100 in just one night.
In the Dessicated Dunes, the Nightstar Sand deposits are pretty sparse, so don’t stress too much about finding more. The dunes lack much foliage, making it easy to spot the glow from a distance.
The glowing sand is primarily used for crafting weapons, tools, and accessories, so you won’t need a massive stash for items like ammo or potions. Here are a few crafting recipes to keep in mind:
Palworld Hardwood: Get to choppin’
Palworld best base locations: Home sweet home
Palworld Cryogenic Coolant: Icy upgrades
Palworld Ancient Bone: Accessory ingredients
Palworld Panthalus: Legendary whale pal
