Upcoming Ratchet & Clank Title Set to Launch as a Multiplayer Hero Shooter for All Players
Ratchet & Clank: Ranger Rumble is the latest entry in the beloved PlayStation franchise, and while we’re still waiting for a release date, you can pre-register for the game right now.
The announcement came from Sony Interactive Entertainment and developer Oh BiBi, revealing that after a soft launch and testing phase, Ratchet & Clank: Ranger Rumble is set for a global rollout.
This new title is a third-person multiplayer hero shooter exclusive to iOS and Android. First unveiled in November 2025, the initial reception was mixed, with some fans expressing skepticism about the direction of the game. Comments on social media reflect this sentiment, with one user noting, “This sounds like the kind of thing Ratchet and Clank would’ve made fun of.” Another user lamented that after years of anticipation, the game feels like a letdown.
According to the blog post detailing the pre-registration, the development team has been refining the game through regional soft launches in Canada, the Nordics, France, and Asia. They noted that player feedback has been instrumental in shaping the experience, and now Ratchet & Clank: Ranger Rumble is preparing for its global launch, with pre-registration marking the first step in that process.
Oh BiBi, known for titles like Frag Pro Shooter, BEAST, and Go Go Magnet, has crafted a game that will feature 12 heroes at launch, including some new Lombaxes. Players can look forward to six different game modes, including PvP, PvE, a battle royale, and a soccer-themed showdown.
The team seems aware of the mixed feelings from long-time fans, as CEO Stanislas Dewavrin emphasized their commitment to honoring the franchise. They aim to create a game that feels authentic to the series.
By pre-registering for Ratchet & Clank: Ranger Rumble, players can help unlock community rewards, with the ultimate prize being a Clank Suit cosmetic for Widget, one of the game’s heroes.
Rivet is a fantastic addition to this 19-year-old franchise.
