Tom Holland’s Comment Sends Spider-Man: Brand New Day Fans into a Frenzy

Tom Holland, the current Spider-Man, has a packed schedule this month. Not only is Spider-Man: Brand New Day set to debut later this month, but Christopher Nolan’s adaptation of The Odyssey is also hitting theaters this week. On top of that, he’s featured in a documentary titled Generations: The Evolution of Spider-Man on Disney+, where he drops a hint about the upcoming MCU film that has fans buzzing with theories.

In the documentary, Holland discusses the film’s title, Brand New Day. At first glance, it seems to reflect Peter Parker’s life following the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home, where a spell from Doctor Strange made everyone forget him. Now, he’s navigating life as a superpowered loner, saving those he loves, even if they don’t remember who he is. However, Holland has hinted that the title might carry a deeper significance.

“The ‘Brand New Day’ of this movie, it isn’t the beginning,” Holland states. “It’s the last frame of this movie.”

This revelation has Marvel fans scrambling to decipher its meaning. With rumors about the film’s conclusion circulating from supposed insiders and leakers, many are trying to connect Holland’s comments to these speculated details. While we can’t confirm how Brand New Day will wrap up, those wanting to avoid spoilers should tread carefully.

“Just finished [the documentary], and I feel like it low-key teased the whole ‘Symbiote revives Peter out of the grave’ ending,” a redditor commented, referencing the leaked ending. “At the end of the documentary, Tom Holland says that ‘The brand new day of this movie, it isn’t the beginning. It’s the last frame of this movie,’ and then it ends with the scene of Peter’s black eyes.”

Despite some believing this ending was debunked due to a tweet about a “semi-happy ending,” the redditor feels there are numerous ways for the film to portray Peter’s ‘death’ while still concluding on a somewhat positive note.

Others are linking it to elements already seen in the trailers, such as Peter’s new powers, which fans speculate could be a nod to the Man-Spider storyline from the comics.

“Or maybe that’s just Peter fully embracing all the changes in his body that happened due to the mutation he went through in this movie, meaning that these changes are in fact permanent, and fully accepting that his life isn’t going to be the same anymore and that he needs to move on from his past life that he won’t be able to fully restore,” another redditor replied.

Whatever unfolds at the end of Spider-Man: Brand New Day is likely to impact the character’s future in the MCU. While Holland’s return in Avengers: Doomsday this December isn’t confirmed, he could still appear in Avengers: Secret Wars, slated for 2027. Regardless, it seems we’ll be seeing more of Peter soon—unless he meets his end and is replaced by Miles Morales, making the “brand new day” about another Spider-Man swinging through NYC. Just another theory to add to the mix.
