Fortnite’s Hot Bat Summer kicks off with some unexpectedly bold skins.

Fortnite’s Hot Bat Summer has arrived, bringing a wave of eye-catching, slightly controversial skins that definitely turn heads. This latest crossover with DC Comics introduces four new character outfits inspired by the iconic swimsuit covers, along with themed quest rewards and fresh Batman-themed gameplay elements.

The event showcases some daring new skins for beloved Gotham City characters: Coastal Catwoman, High Tide Harley, Chlorophyll Ivy, and Beach Bod Batman. This marks a shift towards bolder designs for Fortnite, which previously leaned towards more conservative aesthetics. Launched on Thursday, the event also features a new Bat Cave point of interest, the Batman Beach Buggy vehicle, and the Batman Grapnel Gun.

Epic has confirmed that the skins revealed earlier this week are the final versions. Initially, there were concerns among fans that the outfits had been toned down for modesty, but Poison Ivy fans can rest easy; she’s making her appearance in all her attention-grabbing glory.

These summer-themed skins will be available in the Fortnite Shop starting July 16 at 8 p.m. EDT, each accompanied by their own Lego version, Pickaxe, and Back Bling.

During Hot Bat Summer, players can earn new Batman Sprites by completing quests. In Battle Royale matches, the Batman Sprite allows you to deploy a Bat Cape while airborne and boosts the chances of finding rare sprites in chests.

Additional quest rewards include G’nort’s Summer Tote Back Bling, the Caped Cooler-sader Pickaxe, and the Zap-brella Glider. For those unfamiliar, G’nort is the anthropomorphic dog from the Green Lantern Corps, known for his comedic antics in DC Comics.

The excitement ramps up on Saturday with Shiny Hours, where all players will start with a Batman Grapnel Gun and Self-Revive Device. During this time, spawns for the Batman Sprite and Beach Buggy will increase, along with the appearance of Gold, Gummy, Galaxy, and Holofoil Sprite variants. Shiny Hours will take place on July 18, from 2 p.m. EDT to 4 p.m. EDT and again from 9 p.m. EDT to 11 p.m. EDT.
