Capcom Teams Up with Fragrance Brand to Bring Street Fighter Scents to Your Space

Fighting game enthusiasts are always on the lookout for that extra edge, whether it’s through leverless controllers, ultra-fast 540 Hz monitors, or high-quality Sanwa buttons. Now, there’s a unique twist to gaining an advantage — gaming fragrances inspired by characters from Street Fighter 6.

Ingrid, Juri, and Ed are set to receive officially licensed fragrance oil sets, each featuring distinct scents. These sets include the fragrance oil and a wooden diffuser, all packaged in character-themed tins.

Ingrid is a natural pick for this collaboration; as a multi-dimensional magical girl, she likely has a keen sense of hygiene. Juri and Ed, on the other hand, are less obvious choices. Ed is a shirtless boxer who always seems to be sweating, while Juri’s character focus is, well, feet, which aren’t typically associated with pleasant aromas.

Ingrid’s fragrance is designed to “enhance clarity in stock accumulation and release timing.” For those unfamiliar, Ingrid’s strategy revolves around charging stocks that boost her projectiles, which can be unleashed for massive damage by holding a button.

The scent itself features “a light opening of grapefruit and leafy green,” which is said to evoke a sense of “unhurried, continuous flow.”

Juri’s fragrance aims to make your hit-confirms feel “razor-sharp.” While you might not need that boost since her optimal combo can be achieved with just two medium punches, it’s nice to see the use of fighting game lingo.

Ed’s fragrance is crafted to help you throw out counter pokes without the risk of being whiff-punished. With his disjointed Psycho Power jabs, he can certainly pull that off. The scent combines “the elegant freshness of bergamot and the warmth of vetiver” to create a calming atmosphere.

Despite the unusual concept, Street Fighter 6 game director Takayuki Nakayama is fully supportive. He stated:

“This item dramatically deepens your connection with the characters you love. The fragrances provide the focus needed for long gaming sessions and a refreshing sensation that soothes a mind heated by intense matches. Perfect for transitioning between on and off, it will make your time in battle feel even more special. The beautiful package art, which showcases each character’s charm, is also a must-see. Thank you for creating such a wonderful product.”

Each fragrance set is priced at 6,850 yen (around $42) and offers 30 uses per bottle, with shipping starting in mid-October. However, before you think this will be the secret to reaching Grand Master, remember that each set comes with a disclaimer: “We do not guarantee the effects or benefits of the fragrance.” So, you’ll still need to figure out how to deal with Sagat’s relentless offense on your own.

The brand behind this is CODE Meee, a Japanese fragrance company that claims to provide optimal scents based on data for both individuals and businesses. They’ve previously collaborated with singer-songwriter Kayoko Yoshizawa and the VTubing agency Hololive.
