New Wolverine Trailer Reveals Iconic X-Men Villain

Marvel’s Wolverine is just around the corner, and fans are buzzing with excitement about the characters set to make an appearance. We’ve already confirmed a few key figures, including Jean Grey and Mystique. The latest trailer, released recently, introduces a new antagonist: Lady Deathstrike.

In this trailer, we see Wolverine take quite a beating. He’s sent flying by an explosion and lands face-first in the snow. His longtime rival, Sabretooth, joins him in battle, a detail the developers hinted at in a previous interview. Wolverine faces off against what seem to be The Hand ninjas before Lady Deathstrike swoops in to challenge him, delivering a swift smack to our favorite Canadian mutant. It looks like he’s in for a rough time.

Like Wolverine, Lady Deathstrike boasts an adamantium skeleton, and her fingers are equipped with extendable claws—definitely not something you want to mess with. She was previously portrayed in 2003’s X2 by Kelly Hu, where she met a grim fate after being injected with liquid adamantium. Hu also reprised her role in last year’s Deadpool VR.

In the new trailer, Lady Deathstrike is seen alongside a group of ninjas, suggesting a connection to them. If they are indeed The Hand, she might be leading them in the game.

Jean Grey makes a brief appearance in the form of a photograph, showing her and Wolverine (sporting his classic flannel) in a cozy moment, hinting at a potential romantic subplot. As the picture goes up in flames, let’s hope Wolverine has a backup to reminisce over.

Fans will get a chance to see the latest trailer for Marvel’s Wolverine in theaters this weekend, as it will be featured before Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey in select U.S. locations.
