Lego One Piece Trailer Offers a Playful Glimpse at the Netflix Series’ Storyline
Netflix’s live-action adaptation of One Piece has made waves with its second season earlier this year, and the Straw Hat pirates are gearing up for their next escapade in a surprising new format.
Luffy, Nami, and the crew are being transformed into Lego characters for Lego One Piece, a two-part special that revisits the highlights of the first two seasons of the live-action series, but this time, everything is crafted from Lego bricks.
On Monday, Netflix unveiled the first full teaser trailer for the special, showcasing the playful Lego antics. The story is narrated by Usopp, who adds his own flair with a creatively unreliable recounting of events. At one point, Zoro quips, “Wow, who’s this super cool dude?” about Usopp, only for Usopp to retort, “I never said that!” Throughout the special, expect plenty of Usopp’s tall tales and embellishments, including his claim of being the mastermind behind the idea of sailing into the Grand Line for the legendary One Piece.
“We aimed to create something that would welcome new viewers into the expansive world of One Piece while also offering longtime fans a fresh and entertaining perspective on the iconic narratives from the first two seasons,” said Tom Hyndman, the showrunner, writer, and executive producer, in a news release.
The entire Straw Hat crew will reprise their roles to voice their Lego counterparts, including Jacob Romero Gibson as Usopp. Lego One Piece is set to premiere on September 29.
But that’s not all for One Piece enthusiasts. Season 3 of the live-action series has just completed filming and is slated for a 2027 release. Additionally, a remake of the One Piece anime is also on the horizon, with a streaming debut planned for February 2027.
