Avengers: Doomsday Unveils Intense First Trailer

After months of building anticipation around the massive cast of Avengers: Doomsday, Marvel has finally dropped an official trailer for the film.

In the first look, Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom appears to be the source of much of the turmoil, but it seems like we’ll also witness some epic showdowns between various hero teams. Thor (Chris Hemsworth) seems to be the only one grasping the urgency of uniting the X-Men, the Fantastic Four, and the (New) Avengers against their new foe from Latveria. While Thor may struggle to rally everyone on his own, the presence of Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) is likely to help unite the heroes.

The trailer suggests that Doomsday will be another grand spectacle, heavily leaning into our nostalgia for the classic X-Men films. Marvel likely has more surprises in store, which we might hear about during their appearance at San Diego Comic-Con later this week, ramping up excitement for the film’s release on December 18th — the same day Dune: Part Three hits theaters.
