Halo: Campaign Evolved Coming Soon — And It’s the First Halo Game Ever on PlayStation

History will be made on July 28, 2026. Halo: Campaign Evolved, a ground-up Unreal Engine 5 remake of the original Halo: Combat Evolved campaign, will officially launch on Xbox Series X|S, PS5, and PC — and for the first time in the franchise’s 25-year history, Master Chief lands on a PlayStation console on day one. No timed exclusivity window. No staggered rollout. Day one, on all platforms simultaneously.

What’s New in Campaign Evolved

This isn’t a remaster — Halo Studios, formerly known as 343 Industries, built the game from scratch. New lighting, new geometry, redesigned enemy encounters, and modern movement mechanics like sprinting and clambering have been introduced, bringing the gameplay feel in line with where the series has gone since the original 2001 release. Alongside the base campaign, every edition includes Operation: METEORITE, a brand-new three-mission story arc set a year before the events of the first game, featuring Master Chief and Sgt. Johnson on a clandestine mission aboard a Covenant research vessel. Four-player online co-op is supported across all platforms, with full cross-play and cross-progression between console and PC. Two-player split-screen is also available on consoles. The game is available day one on Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass at no additional cost.

Early Access, Editions and Timing for India

Players who purchased the Digital Premium Edition or Collector’s Edition received up to five days of early access from July 23 — meaning early access actually begins today for Indian players. The Standard Edition is priced at $49.99, making it one of the more accessible major releases of the year. For India, the game goes live at approximately 8:30 PM IST on July 23 for early access holders, and will unlock for everyone at the same time on July 28.
