India at Esports World Cup 2026 — S8UL and GodLike Head to Paris for the Biggest Show in Esports
The Esports World Cup 2026 is officially underway in Paris, France, and India has sent its biggest delegation yet. Running from July 6 to August 23 at Paris Expo Porte de Versailles, EWC 2026 features over 2,000 players, 200 clubs, and competitors from more than 100 countries competing across 25 tournaments covering 24 games — all for a record-breaking $75 million prize pool. For India, the Paris edition is historic.

India’s Biggest Representation at EWC to Date

GodLike Esports, fresh off their BMPS 2026 championship, have headed to Paris for the PUBG Mobile World Cup as India’s direct qualifier, alongside also competing in Street Fighter 6 through player Caba. iQOO Orangutan, who secured the second India slot through the KRAFTON India Esports Rankings, are also part of the PUBG Mobile campaign.
The opening ceremony on July 8 at La Seine Musicale featured performances by Aya Nakamura, DJ Snake, and Theodora before the competition kicked into gear. India fans can watch all matches live on the official EWC YouTube and Twitch channels, with S8UL also running creator watch parties and co-streams through over 50 of their creators and players.
Free Fire — India Sends Three Teams for the First Time
One of the most significant moments for Indian esports at EWC 2026 is the Free Fire tournament, running from July 15 to 18 with a $1 million prize pool. For the first time ever, India qualified three teams simultaneously — Team Apex Gaming, S8UL, and Total Gaming Esports — all through the FFMIC 2026 Spring qualifier. Team Apex Gaming entered as India’s top seed after winning the qualifier outright, while S8UL finished second and Total Gaming third. All three teams arrived in Paris following weeks of preparation against international opponents using the global version of Free Fire.
