Experience the dark future of Blade Runner 2099, streaming on Amazon this November.

Amazon is officially launching its highly anticipated Blade Runner streaming series, titled Blade Runner 2099. Set to premiere on Prime Video on November 25th, all eight episodes will be available for binge-watching right from the start. The first trailer has dropped, showcasing classic Blade Runner elements: a dystopian Los Angeles, intense narration, and some stylish outerwear.

Silka Luisa, known for her work on the Apple TV adaptation of Shining Girls, is at the helm of the series, with original Blade Runner director Ridley Scott serving as an executive producer. The cast features Michelle Yeoh and Hunter Schafer, and the story unfolds several decades after Denis Villeneuve’s Blade Runner 2049. Here’s the official premise:

> Fifty years after the events of Blade Runner 2049, Los Angeles has been reborn, just not by humanity. Cora, a fugitive in a final bid to stop running, takes on one last identity: a Blade Runner. Forced to partner with Olwen, a Replicant days from dying, she hunts down a runaway hiding a truth that could collapse their fragile city.

The journey to Blade Runner 2099 has been lengthy, with Amazon first announcing the project back in 2022. Its arrival coincides with a resurgence of interest in cyberpunk television, as other adaptations, like William Gibson’s Neuromancer, are also in the works.
