February 2027 is set to get even busier with the arrival of God of War Laufey.

Santa Monica Studio and PlayStation Studios have officially announced the release date for God of War Laufey. Gamers won’t have to wait long, as this PlayStation 5 exclusive is set to launch on February 16, 2027.

February is shaping up to be a busy month for gaming, with Laufey leading a lineup that includes other major titles like Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis, Persona 4 Revival, Fable, and Metro 2039. While there will be plenty of exciting options, most PS5 owners will likely have their sights set on this latest installment in the God of War series.

The release date was unveiled during the game’s panel at San Diego Comic-Con 2026, where it was also revealed that a new God of War title featuring Kratos is in the works. In a twist, Laufey shifts the focus away from Kratos, centering instead on Faye. The story explores Faye’s journey after her death at the beginning of 2018’s God of War, as she transitions to the Everywhen, the afterlife for gods.

This installment marks the first time the series will incorporate deities from beyond Greek and Norse mythology, and it promises a combat system that is faster-paced than its predecessors. Faye will be voiced by Deborah Ann Woll, known for her role in Daredevil: Born Again, and she’ll be joined by a Phranque, a large cosmic cube voiced by Jack Quaid. Both actors participated in the SDCC 2026 panel alongside Cory Barlog and Christopher Judge, expressing their enthusiasm for the project and their characters.

God of War Laufey will be available exclusively for PS5 on February 16, 2027, and it will also receive a physical release. Additionally, new God of War titles featuring Kratos, including a remake of the original Greek trilogy, are currently in development.
