Google hints at an upcoming price increase for the Pixel 11.

In a recent chat, Shakil Barkat, Google’s VP of Devices and Services, hinted that the upcoming Pixel phone will likely be priced higher than the Pixel 10. This potential price increase isn’t shocking, especially given the ongoing RAM supply challenges stemming from the surge in AI data centers. Many tech giants, from Apple to Nintendo and Microsoft to Roku, have already adjusted their prices in light of rising memory costs.

Barkat mentioned that Google has done its best to protect consumers from supply chain fluctuations, but acknowledged that “the economics have fundamentally shifted and we’re not immune to that.” He indicated that the Pixel series will see “adjustments” in pricing that will be implemented dynamically to reflect current supply conditions.

The base model of the Pixel 11 is anticipated to start at $899, but it will feature 256GB of storage instead of the previous 128GB. Additionally, there are rumors that the Pixel 11 Pro might see a reduction in RAM from 16GB to 12GB. Fortunately, we won’t have to wait long for confirmation, as Google is set to unveil the next generation of Pixel devices on August 12th.
