Star Wars: Unlimited’s Homeworlds Set Arrives This October

If there were any lingering doubts about the future of Star Wars: Unlimited or concerns that the card game might be on the decline, those worries can be put to rest. Fantasy Flight Games is fully committed to the Star Wars universe and is making significant changes to the game.

During the Galactic Report at the 2026 Galactic Championship in Las Vegas, an event that gathers both competitive and casual players, designers, and collectors, FFG announced exciting developments for Unlimited, including the upcoming set: Homeworlds.

Scheduled for release in October, Homeworlds introduces over 260 new cards that celebrate iconic planets, creatures, and communities from the beloved galaxy. Among its offerings are Spotlight Decks featuring pre-made decks with one leader, a base, and a total of 50 cards. The leaders in this set are Chewbacca and Grand Moff Tarkin.

These leaders come with innovative gameplay mechanics that enhance player strategies. Chewbacca’s ability allows players to use units to attack other units, even if they are already exhausted. However, Tarkin is set to revolutionize gameplay in a truly impactful way. As a Spotlight Leader, Tarkin can deploy the Death Star to obliterate an opponent’s base if they have 10 or fewer health points remaining. For players who thrive in the late game, Tarkin is poised to be a game-changer.

Homeworlds also brings additional features:

But Homeworlds isn’t the only new set on the horizon for Unlimited. With its release in October and Icons 2027 set to debut in November, FFG has plenty more in store for both Premier and Twin Sun players, as well as collectors.

Here’s a look at the anticipated timeline for future Unlimited sets in 2027:

While specific details about the timeline and gameplay elements of each set were not disclosed, we can speculate that Legacy of Skywalker will explore the sequel era, System Overload will focus heavily on droids, Icons will introduce even more iconic characters, and there may be a Rebellion versus Empire (or Republic versus Separatist) set for Galaxy at War.

The Galactic Report also confirmed that the organized play program will continue, providing details about season 2.

Qualifiers for the Ashes of the Empire sector will be held at various locations, with the regional championship scheduled for October 30 to November 1 in Utrecht, Netherlands.

Lastly, the Galactic Report unveiled several new accessories from FFG’s merchandise partner, Gamegenic. These accessories are designed specifically for Homeworlds, offering players fresh ways to protect, organize, and display their collections.
