Possible Spoiler Revealed for Sadie Sink’s Role in Spider-Man: Brand New Day After Extended Secrecy

Sadie Sink is part of Spider-Man: Brand New Day, but she’s kept her character under wraps. Despite being on the press tour, she’s only shared her thoughts on the film’s overall vibe without revealing any specifics. Speculation has been swirling online that she might portray the telepathic mutant Jean Grey from the X-Men. While some interviewers have tried to pry information from her, she has remained tight-lipped about her role in the MCU. However, with the film premiering this week in Los Angeles, it seems someone may have let the cat out of the bag.

R&B artist Steve Lacy, whose song “oh yeah?” is featured in Brand New Day, attended the premiere and was asked about his excitement for the film. Despite being cautioned not to spoil anything, he potentially revealed a major plot point.

“Jean,” he stated. “I like Jean. She’s the villain, but there’s a reason to her madness.”

This revelation could mean that Lacy just spoiled a significant character twist, and it’s likely that Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige will be reaching out to him soon. Unless this is a clever misdirection, it seems we now know Sink’s character in the MCU. With rumors of an X-Men movie reboot following the events of Avengers: Doomsday and Secret Wars, it appears Marvel wanted to introduce one of the new actors before the old ones return in the upcoming crossover event.

Regardless of who Sadie is portraying, early reactions to her performance in Brand New Day have been overwhelmingly positive.

#SpiderManBrandNewDay has already established Sadie Sink as a standout star in the MCU. Her character showcases some of the most compelling character development ever seen in a Marvel film. Excited to see what’s next for her.

It took a bit for #SpiderManBrandNewDay to win me over, but once it picks up, what initially seemed like a lackluster plot really comes together. Review coming in 8 hours, but I can confidently say that Sadie Sink is among the best casting choices in the MCU, possibly since Tom Holland.

We’ll find out for sure if Jean is making her MCU debut when the film hits theaters on July 31.
