August’s PS Plus Lineup Features Two Ideal Co-op Adventures for Friends

The heat is on, and so is my urge to stay inside. Luckily, two of this month’s PlayStation Plus games are all about exploring new places with friends. Who needs to brave the sweltering heat when you can chill indoors, crank up the AC, hydrate, and embark on virtual adventures from the comfort of your couch?

On July 28, PlayStation unveiled the lineup of PS5 and PS4 games set to drop for all PS Plus subscribers next month. These titles will be available for permanent addition to your PlayStation library starting August 4. Once you add them, you can install and play whenever you like, as long as you maintain an active PS Plus Essential, Extra, or Premium subscription. Here’s what’s coming and the platforms they’ll be on.

Make sure to snag these PS Plus monthly games before they disappear on August 31. After that, a fresh batch of unannounced games will be available for subscribers.

I’m particularly excited about the day-one release of Big Walk on PlayStation Plus. It’s one of those games that might be a hard sell to some of my friends, but as a freebie with PS Plus, they’ll likely give it a shot. And I really hope they do, because Big Walk looks like a blast, packed with puzzles and a vast island to explore with your crew. If my friends are in the mood for some movement and zombie-slaying, we can dive into Dying Light 2 next month. This zombie RPG has improved significantly since its launch in 2026. Lastly, Signal is a chilling indie survival horror game that’s definitely worth a look.

And don’t forget to add June’s free games to your PlayStation library. You have until July 6 to grab For The King 2, Modern Warfare III, and Cross Code.
