Bubbly Basin, the First Major DLC for Pokopia, Launches Next Week
The first major DLC for Pokopia, titled Bubbly Basin, is set to drop next week on August 5. This exciting news comes from a Japanese commercial and has been confirmed by an outlet, though no additional details have surfaced yet. We can expect to see the full advertisement soon.
Bubbly Basin was first revealed during Nintendo’s June Direct presentation. Alongside the DLC, a free update is scheduled for August, allowing all players to swim underwater. The DLC is part of a paid expansion pass that will introduce a new water-themed town and a host of new Pokémon residents, including Mudkip and Popplio.
There are two more updates planned as part of the expansion pass. The second update, arriving later this year, promises “additional new features,” though specifics remain under wraps. The third update will introduce yet another new town, but that won’t be available until next year. The complete expansion pass, which includes all three DLC updates, is priced at $35, and currently, the DLCs cannot be purchased individually. Importantly, you won’t need to buy the DLC to access the underwater swimming ability in existing areas.
The ability to swim underwater has been a highly requested feature in Pokopia since its launch, as players have noticed resources lurking beneath the waves that could only be accessed by draining the ocean. Pokopia itself is an incredibly engaging game that I’ve sunk nearly 100 hours into without hesitation, and this update is sure to pull me back into its immersive aquatic world.
