Marvel Rivals expands its Doomsday journey with the new Age of Ultron mode launching this week.
The next mode inspired by the MCU for Marvel Rivals is set to launch on July 30, as confirmed by NetEase Games. This marks the second phase of the hero shooter’s major Path to Doomsday event, leading up to the release of Avengers: Doomsday this December.
Path to Doomsday — Avengers: Age of Ultron introduces a new PvE mode themed around the 2015 film. The latest trailer showcases Captain America, Black Widow, Iron Man, and Hulk battling waves of Ultron robots on a fresh Avengers Tower map. While specifics about the mode’s structure, objectives, and rewards are still under wraps, players can expect more information soon as the release date approaches. The official description hints at the inclusion of story cinematics and dialogue.
This phase also brings two new skins inspired by Age of Ultron, featuring Ultron and Scarlet Witch. Additionally, Spider-Man and Hulk will receive new skins on July 31, coinciding with the launch of Spider-Man: Brand New Day, rather than the Path to Doomsday — Avengers: Age of Ultron event.
The first phase of Path to Doomsday, themed around the original Avengers film, ran from late April to late May this year. If the second phase follows a similar timeline, it will be available for about a month, concluding at the end of August. Phases three and four, themed around Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame, respectively, will be added to Marvel Rivals before the Doomsday movie hits theaters. Details regarding these upcoming phases have yet to be revealed.
