Gachiakuta Unveils Thrilling Preview of Season 2
Gachiakuta was one of the standout action anime from last year, and it looks like season 2 is on the horizon. The anime’s official YouTube channel has shared a first-look promotional video confirming that production for the second season is underway.
The teaser features Enjin taking a drag, the quirky Raiders in action, a heartbroken Amo, and Rudo perched on top of a car. It offers glimpses of the Information Broker arc, where the Cleaners and Raiders compete to gather intel on a mysterious item. The first season adapted up to chapter 87 of the manga, which currently has over 170 chapters. At the current pace, it would require at least another 24-episode season to catch up. While there’s no set release date for season 2, considering the release patterns of similar projects, it could potentially arrive in 2027.
Gachiakuta aired from July 6, 2025, to December 22, 2025. It’s based on Kei Urana’s manga, which has been serialized in Weekly Shonen Magazine since February 16, 2022. The story unfolds in a world where inanimate objects can gain special powers through proper care, following Rudo, a boy wrongfully exiled for a crime he didn’t commit. Left to perish in a wasteland known as “the Pit,” he encounters the Cleaners, a group that battles Trash Beasts with supernatural weapons. As Rudo’s powers awaken, he joins the Cleaners to uncover a way to return to his village and seek vengeance against those who betrayed him.
The anime adaptation is produced by Bones Film, a studio renowned for its acclaimed works. Gachiakuta’s first season was praised for its rich worldbuilding, engaging characters, and a graffiti art-inspired aesthetic that exudes style. The announcement of the second season came last December, alongside news of a video game adaptation and a stage play.
Bones Film’s breakout action series is gearing up for its most intense arc yet.
